The dogs not had any more fits in over 60 hours now so its looking good that they have passed and the increased meds are working. I even managed to sleep in my own bed last night, I really needed that.
I need to get the plumber back out to check the pipes, I think there is a leak further along past the stop tap. I can't get at it at the moment as its behind the washing machine and boarded up but I think I can here drips coming from that area and the carpets wet around the washing machine. The nuts on the stop tap need tightening or sealing better as there dripping as well.
I didn't get anything done yarn wise over the weekend but promise to finish the clothespin peg bag this week, I also need to make a little something for my sisters birthday. I think I'll make her a bookmark or a key ring.
Hope you all had a good weekend, have a great day and take care folks. Happy independence day to my American friends.

Yay, running water.
Well the plumber did turn up and managed to fix everything, up to a point. Theres a small leak on the stop tap but I think that will stop once the taps bedded in. The plumber also forgot to re attach the earth cable which I did as soon as I saw it. Don't want the house to burn down. Its really nice to have running water again and now that I have I realise the stress it has been causing me the last week or so. Glad that's over with.
The dogs had a couple more fits, last one was at 10.30 pm so I'm hoping that was the last. I slept pretty well on the couch last night and will spend another night there, then back to my own bed if he has no more fits.
This whole week I've hardly touched anything yarn wise, just too much going on. I'll correct that this weekend though. Today I have to bottle up some beer but will try and fit some weaving and spinning in.
Hope you all have a great weekend, take care folks.

Waiting for the plumber.
The dogs been having fits again the last couple of days, don't think I've slept more than 2 hours straight through in the last 48hrs. I'm absolutely exhausted. The vets increased his meds dose and his blood work has come back fine so its just a matter of time now for the increased dose to kick in, fingers crossed.
I'm waiting in for the plumber this afternoon, the guy is useless and keeps letting me down so I'm not sure if he will turn up or not. I'm more than a little annoyed.
Not much in the mood for blogging this week, its nearly over though. I'll keep you all informed with the plumbing and the dog.
Have a great day and take care folks.

No fits.
The dogs not had another fit since Sunday 4.30pm so with luck I'll get to sleep in my own bed tonight instead of on the dreaded couch. I've already lowered the dogs meds but not as low as they were. I'm giving him the original 45mg in the mornings and 60mg at night, not sure if the mixed sizes work but I can't cut the tablets into equal amounts. For his weight he should be able to take 100mg twice daily but these meds can be hard on the liver so I prefer to give the lowest amount possible. He's due blood tests this month so I will see how his liver is and what the vet says, it might be best to go with 60mg twice a day.
I've not gotten much done, a tiny bit of weaving on the clothespin peg bag. I'm hoping I can get the front of the bag finished tomorrow, can't get much done on it today as I'm busy. I did sew the hem on the bottom part while its still on the loom with invisible thread, I hate invisible thread its a royal pita to use.
Hope you all have a great day, take care folks.

Dogs fitting again.
My dog started having fits again on Saturday, he had 3 on Saturday and two yesterday. The seizures where pretty short and the first 3 his recovery time was good, his recovery times on Sunday weren't so good and he was very clingy and restless most of the day. Being stuck in doors most of the day didn't help, rained hard and must of put down several inches.
He seemed very bright and alert this morning but while walking him he became a bit skittish sniffing around and jumpy so i don't think the fits are over yet. I've increased his meds from 45mg to 60mg but I think they will take a while to feed through his system.
I've made a start on the clothespin peg bag but haven't really gotten a lot done. Its hard to work while worrying about the dog, plus I've been sleeping on the couch the last two nights so that the dog sleeps downstairs. I've weaved about 3 inches so far on the back piece of the bag in a mish mash of blues and greens. No idea how its going to turn out colour wise but should be interesting.

Dogs off to the vets.
Rang the vets to order the dogs repeat prescription earlier and the vet wants to see him for his 6 month check up while on this medication. Not sure what this involves or how much it will cost, will probably need blood work and liver checks. I'm hoping they keep him on the meds, not sure I could cope seeing him fitting again.
I finished weaving the front part of the clothespin peg bag yesterday, its pretty misshapen so might need to do it again. Weaving the slit is what I think has made it go all wonky. I've already started the back piece and once thats done I will decide on what to do next, I might be able to put it all together. If not I'll make a new front piece and safety pin the slit as I go along, I think that will help me control the slit weaving better.

Tired today.
The vets was closed yesterday so have just been today. I took my ice spikes, in my pocket, but they weren't needed. It was a little slippery in places but for the most part it was fine. So that's the dog taken care of for another month, I'll have to plan the next pick up early I think as it will be around Christmas time its due.
Got a little spinning done yesterday, I managed to do some white and oatmeal bfl. I think its near the end, should be finished fully by the middle of next week, then I can get them in the post. I will take a few pictures first for you folks. Think it will take about 2 weeks to get to the states so should make it for Christmas.
I'm coming to the end of the pocket scarf I think, its very close to doing the pattern turn now. I'll have to keep measuring it and remember my sister is a little shorter than I am. I should be able to make a start on the second scarf this weekend.
That's all for today, I'm pretty tired for some reason. Have a good day and stay warm.

ewww Dogs.
Postman woke me up this morning delivering some yarn and my new mouse. Its an optical trackball type, I'm still getting used to it as it seems super sensitive at the moment. I should read the manual and see what adjustments can be made. Very expensive for a mouse but I can't stand the normal ones and my old trackball did out last two computers, 11 years.
So pretty early in the morning I'm up and open the back door for the dog and notices he's thrown up in the kitchen and there appears to be a dead round worm in it, ewwww breakfast time it ain't. As a care assistant I've cleaned up a lot of nasty stuff but I'm no good first thing in the morning, gag very easy. Just been the shop and got him some dewormer stuff so he should be cleared up pretty soon.I'll also look on the net in a bit for natural stuff seeing as he's already on medication, maybe I can stink em out with some garlic or something.
I didn't get any spinning done yesterday but the pocket scarf is coming along nicely. The yarn I got this morning is the same stuff but in white I'm going to use for the second pocket scarf. I'll get the oatmeal spun up today and ply tomorrow, well that's the plan.

Vets
Short post today folks.
Just got back from the vets and there were no problems with the meds. I got a repeat script for a reduced dosage which should help the dog stop staggering around like a drunk. Vet told me he can still have fits because it take about 2 weeks for the meds to start working properly and can even have fits while on the meds until they find the right dosage for him.
Had a good play with my kick spindle, more about that another day I'm afraid, just don't have the time right now. I also started one of the Iphone socks as well but have been forced to do moss/seed stitch because my purls with ribbing are laddering again. I've mentioned this before and will post on it again soon because its a pain and I need help to sort it out.
Not sure what will be posted for Saturday so just pop back for a surprise. Have a great weekend.

Nada
Didn't get anything done yesterday. I think the stress of the dog being ill has caught up with me. I have slept in my own bed the last 2 nights but I'm not sleeping all that well. The dogs taken to sleeping at my bedside so every time he twitches in his sleep or scratches I'm up and wondering if its another fit. I've cut a pill in half for him this morning but will give him a full dose tonight. I'll be seeing the vet later and will discuss managing his meds better.
Its a frosty morning out but the skies are clear and the suns out, its sort of warm until the wind blows then it reminds you of winter. I'm going to take the dog on a long walk over the hills. Should be a refreshing day.
I'll get some knitting, spinning or weaving done when I get back. Hope you all have a nice day.

Weaving, nearly there.
My dog is still doing ok, he's had no more fits but is a little dopey at times. Thanks for the advice, encouragement and links.
I did some weaving on Sunday, set up the spear's loom for the first time. Setting up the loom took me ages and then I had to move all the threads along so the work was more straight.
I used different colours for my weft and again they didn't show up in the weave but have finally figured out why. I've been reading double wool as double knit wool,dk. It seems if you use two threads of yarn for weaving the weft colours do show up. Some of the weft had two colours, one going through the holes and another colour going through the gaps in the heddle, they both showed in the weave once I started using two strands of yarn for weaving. Its this part that has been doing my head in since I started.
I'm not 100% sure how to get solid vertical lines still but think you weave them in a separate colour. I've had a ago at this last time when I was making squares. Its something I really need to practise though as sometimes there were holes or bumps depending on where I turned.
Another mistake I made with the spear's loom was that I started weaving upside down so that once it came time to move the work along and wrap it around I couldn't. I've got that part figured now so next time I can make a longer piece. It might be better though if I practise more on short pieces until I have colour changes right.
Over all I'm happy with the results, glad I finally figured how to make the colours in the weft show up. I'm still a long way from weaving tartan though.
I did manage a little knitting aswell on the Iphone sock cosy thingy but I'm not happy with a section of purls. I sometimes have this problem that my purls are not tight enough. Its odd really, when it happens it repeats itself row after row making it all look very untidy.
k2,p3,pk4,p2,k2,p2,k4,p3,k2 turn magic loop and knit the back k2,p3,k2,p4,k2,p4,k2,p3,k2. As you can see there are a lot of p and k changes but I'm only messing up one row after row after row. Its the first purl after the knit 4 on the front of the work. Its a problem that doesn't happen all the time but crops up from time to time with me and I have no idea why.
I've decided to do a bit more on the Iphone sock cosy thingy but stop short and use it for my tobacco tin and knit another Iphone sock cosy thingy, hopefully without the mistakes this time. I'm also going to knit it a bit thinner too, change the p3 to p2 on the front and p4 to p3 on the back

Quick dog update.
He's not had any more fits but isn't himself, not sure if that's the meds or not though, he's whiny and seems unsettled. He was really zonked last night, had a job waking him up. I'm thinking I'll keep him on this dose level a day or two more then cut the tablets in half. I should see the vet really this week and see what she says.
Hope your all having a pleasant weekend.

No picture post today.
Got a load of washing on the line. It was sunny just a second ago, sat down to write this and its suddenly gone dark, very dark. Hope its not going to rain, I've got the dogs bedding in the washing machine.
The dog had two more short fits, one at around 3am and the other around 7am. I've given him his second dose of meds and I think once they build up in his system they should start to work better...............bollox he just had another while I'm sitting here. 1.22pm approx 45 secs long. He's breathing very hard, not too steady on his feet but wants to play ball within two mins.
I really hope these meds start working soon.

Dogs seizing again
Dogs just had two seizures about 15 mins apart, not good. Not good at all. Both fits were short, less than a min each I think but being that close together isn't healthy. I've given him one of the tablets the vet gave me and I think I'll sleep on the couch tonight to be on the safe side.
He's very unsettled at the moment, keeps getting up for a walk around, got the back door open for him even though its freezing out. Brrrrr.I really hope these tablets work. Not sure I want him on tablets all the time but think these ones need to be given every day. There was no signs that he was about to fit, I think last time he was spooked for a couple of days before he had his first.
Please say a little prayer for my poor dog and I, thanks.

Christmas updates, already.
The dogs still doing well and I'm comfortably sleeping back in my own bed, yaaa. Been a nice sunny day so have got the washing out and have caught up on nearly all my chores, that is until they need doing again, and again, and again, and again!!!
Spoke to one of my sisters before and she says she wants a scarf with pockets in it. This is the sister I was going to do the newsboy hat for. She also told me her son wants black fingerless mitts, I was going to knit him the two way hat. Oh well, at least I hadn't already started knitting anything and I guess it does make presents easier to sort out.
I'm wondering if I could do the double basket weave scarf with pockets, hope so because I not looking forward to knitting a mainly plain scarf. Am going to have to start buying more yarn very soon now I have firms things that need to be knit.

Almost back to normal.
I got to sleep in my own bed last night. The dog was pacing a little but I think this is my fault, think he's confused with me sleeping downstairs and upstairs and doesn't know why. He's not had any more fits and seems to be fine and he's back to eating as normal. I just hope it doesn't happen again or it does there very short and well spaced apart.
I managed to do a little knitting yesterday on the Ipad sock cosy thingy and am thinking about making a flap for it. Stop kitting in the round and do the back, basket weave into the crossed arrow cable but when its folded over it will be upside down compared to the front. I figure if I can get the lengths right it will look good.
Still need to catch up on some chores but got most done yesterday. Hope to get some spinning done today as well, maybe a little weaving too. I need to learn how to finish off a weaved project. I could do with more practise in starting too.
Thanks for the kind emails.

Vets and chores.
Went to the vets, theres really not a lot that can be done. They took some blood and gave me two types of medication to use if needed. She said the blood work will probably not show anything, will get the results in a little while. He hasn't had another fit since 1pm Sunday so fingers crossed they have disappeared as quickly and unexpectedly as they came. I ended up sleeping on the couch again last night as he was restless and pacing and I wasn't sure if this was a sign a fit was coming, nothing happened though. I'm starting to miss my bed.
I've still not done any knitting, spinning or weaving. Not done any chores either which I really need to start catching up on today. My sister gave me a lift to the vets so I let her have a choice in which Ipad sock cosy she wanted, she picked the one with the rope cable, probably because that one is finished and I'm still only half way on the crossed arrows one.
Hopefully I'll get back to my knitting and spinning today, tomorrow once the chores are looking less like a mountain and will return to regular blogging asap.

Listless
Going to the vets in a bit. The dogs not had any more fits since 1 pm yesterday so that's some good news. I think its been harder on me than the dog, watching the seizures is very distressing and not being able to do anything. I slept on the couch again last night but did have a good nights sleep.
I've not been able to do much knitting, my hearts not in it and can't concentrate for any length of time. I've not been able to do much of anything really this weekend, just padding around the house stopping and starting tasks. Watching over the dog and jumping up any time he scratches or moves in his dreams.
I might post later when I get back from the vets or leave it till tomorrow, want to thank folks for the kind emails, thanks.

Sick with worry
I haven't slept all that good the last two nights I can feel the worry in the pit of my stomach, it sits there like a large heavy rock. The seizures are pretty short, about 1 to 2 mins which is a good thing. The bad thing is he's having more than 3 in 24 hours, approx every 6 hours.
He had a short one just after bedtime last night, after that I decided to sleep on the couch with him downstairs, bit worried he might hurt himself upstairs. His last two were pretty short 30 secs to one min but on the last one he was really struggling to get up and kept banging his head on the floor. He seems ok after about 45 mins though hasn't eaten all that much since they started.
Vets tomorrow and we'll see what happens from there. I'm thinking because of the way there clustered he'll end up on meds but from what I've read once he's used to them its not so bad. Can lead a healthy happy life. Please keep us in your prays, thanks.

My dogs fitting.
No picture post today.
I think I've found out why my dog has been acting odd the last couple of days. He had a fit in the middle of the night and just had another one a little while ago. Scared me silly. He's normally a friendly dog but is aggressive when he comes around for a short time and with the foaming mouth its kinda scary to see.
Now that he's had 2 in a 12 hour period I need to get him to the vets and find out why this is happening. Please say a little pray for him, he's a wonderful dog.
